Dharmacore

Buddhism for the web generation

What is Dharmacore?

What is Dharmacore?

Dharmacore is a term for the Buddhism currently being pieced together and experienced by the post-punk web generation. Young Buddhists are embracing traditions and creating new ways of experiencing the Dharma. This isn’t an attempt to water down the Dharma or create a spiritual buffet of New Age practice, but to embrace the Dharma in a modern way that speaks to our everyday lives. If you’ve been inspired by “One City” by Ethan Nichtern, “Hardcore Zen” and “Sit Down and Shut Up” by Brad Warner, or “Dharma Punks” and “Against the Stream” by Noah Levine, you’re already a part of Dharmacore in spirit.

the above is a fair and reasonable statement, and follows the metaphorical logic in which i understand rebirth. i guess it does (though it shouldn't, as it is not really my concern) that i sometimes hear those unfamiliar with buddhadharma express op…
